Our Story

How Blue Horizon Began

Blue Horizon NGO is a legally registered Non-Governmental Organization under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002 (Act No. 24 of 2002) of the United Republic of Tanzania, with Registration Number OONGO/R/7291. It was founded in 2023 by a group of passionate Tanzanian youths determined to protect life below water and life on land. Motivated by the increasing destruction of ecosystems and the visible impacts of climate change along the coast, we took action to restore and protect marine and terrestrial life while promoting sustainable environmental practices. We believe that a healthy environment and a thriving ocean are essential foundations for resilient communities, sustainable livelihoods and a balanced planet for future generations.
